Editorial Policy
Transparency is foundational to everything we publish. This page explains how our content is researched, reviewed, and maintained, and what standards we hold ourselves to.
How Content Is Researched and Fact-Checked
All scientific claims on CreatineFinders reference peer-reviewed research published in indexed journals. Our primary sources include the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (JISSN), the British Journal of Sports Medicine, Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, and the European Journal of Applied Physiology. We access studies through PubMed and cross-reference findings across multiple publications before presenting them as established evidence.
When evidence is limited, emerging, or conflicting, we state this explicitly. We do not present preliminary findings as settled science, nor do we cite manufacturer-funded studies without disclosing that relationship. The JISSN position stand on creatine supplementation (Kreider et al., 2017) serves as our primary reference framework for dosing recommendations and safety assessments.
Every piece of content undergoes a minimum two-person review before publication. Draft content is written by one team member and reviewed by at least one other for scientific accuracy, factual claims, and consistency with our methodology.
Role of Each Team Member
Dr. Alex Bennett (Sports Nutrition Researcher) reviews all scientific claims, verifies study citations, and ensures dosing recommendations align with published research. He has final sign-off on any health-related statement.
Michael Carter (Strength & Conditioning Coach, CSCS) evaluates products from a practical application perspective, testing protocols with training populations and assessing real-world usability factors including mixability, dosing convenience, and athlete compliance.
Dana Walker (Supplement Industry Analyst) verifies third-party certification status, investigates manufacturing practices, evaluates label accuracy, and monitors regulatory compliance. She maintains our database of certification records and flags any changes between quarterly reviews.
How Products Are Selected for Review
We select products for review based on market availability, consumer interest, and category representation. We aim to cover the most widely purchased creatine supplements as well as notable products from smaller brands that meet our minimum review criteria (clearly labeled ingredients, available for purchase through major retailers).
We do not accept payment to review a product. Brands cannot request a review in exchange for compensation. If a manufacturer sends a sample, we disclose this in the review, and the sample has no influence on the final score. Most products we review are purchased independently.
Affiliate Disclosure
CreatineFinders earns revenue through affiliate partnerships, including the Amazon Associates Program. When you click a product link on our site and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate commissions fund our operations: product purchases, site hosting, and team compensation. However, affiliate relationships are entirely separate from our editorial process. Commission rates do not factor into product scores, rankings, or recommendations. A product with a higher commission rate does not receive favorable treatment. Products with no affiliate program are included when they meet our review criteria.
We comply with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on affiliate disclosure. Affiliate links are disclosed on every page where they appear.
Conflicts of Interest
No member of our editorial team holds a financial interest in any supplement brand we review. Team members do not accept gifts, sponsorships, or consulting fees from supplement companies. If a potential conflict of interest arises, it is disclosed publicly in the relevant content.
We do not publish sponsored content, advertorials, or paid reviews. All content labeled as a review, comparison, or guide reflects our independent analysis. Any promotional content (if ever introduced) would be clearly labeled as such and separated from editorial content.
Updates and Corrections
Product scores and reviews are updated on a quarterly cycle. Between scheduled updates, we revise content when a product is reformulated, a third-party certification status changes, significant pricing shifts occur, or new research materially affects our assessment.
When we correct a factual error, we note the correction at the top of the affected page with the date and a brief description of what changed. We do not silently alter published content. Minor editorial changes (typos, formatting) are made without notation.
If you identify an error in any of our content, we encourage you to report it. Accurate information is more important to us than being right the first time.
Report an Error or Correction
If you believe any content on CreatineFinders contains a factual error, outdated information, or a misrepresented citation, please contact us at info@creatinefinders.com. Include the specific page URL and a description of the issue. We review all correction requests and respond within five business days.
